Keeping Junk Out Of The House
I know myself. I know that if I have junk (cookies, cake, pie, brownies, ice cream, whatever) in the house that I'll eat it until it's gone. So what's my strategy for staying trim? I never buy junk food. Some people buy it and then let themselves have a little bit here and there. That doesn't work for me. I know that if I have it in the house I won't be able to control myself. But for whatever reason I can keep myself from buying it in the first place. That's what works for me. If you find yourself with a similar problem then you have to be honest with yourself and realize that maybe you just shouldn't have the stuff in the house in the first place.
Does that mean I never treat myself to a dessert? No. I do have desserts, I have really good desserts. I only have them when I'm out at a nice restaurant. That makes me enjoy it that much more and it makes sure that I do not eat too much.
My favorite is ice cream at a Japanese restaurant. It amazes me that more people don't bring up how absolutely fantastic ice cream at a good Japanese restaurant is. I don't know whether it's the interesting flavors (including Red Bean and Green Tea) or the preparation (it usually seems to be home made) but... I think it's both! I highly recommend it if you've never tried it. The great thing about this stuff is it's absolutely delicious but they also usually give you quite a small serving. It's not like when you go to some crappy joint like Applebees and they give some huge dessert. It's a lot more classy.
